Truffle and Mushroom Hunting

Mushroom or Truffle hunting is a favourite activity among locals in regions such as Tuscany, Friuli and Umbria which are known for their variety of wild mushrooms and whilte or black truffles. We can arrange for a private guide to take you on a special exploration of the countryside during the Autumn or Spring months when mushrooms are plentiful. This excursion could be combined with a private cooking class that will make you discover how to use the precious finds of the morning!

Truffles are very rare and expensive and special dogs or pigs are trained to sniff out the tubers. Weight by weight they are worth more than gold on the market and even a very small tuber is sufficient to serve a party of 4 or 5 guests.
