Protestant Weddings in Italy
Italy is predominantly Catholic but having a Protestant wedding is certainly possible both in church or in an outside setting or private villa/castle.
Since the Italian government does not have a church and state agreement with the Protestant church as it does with the Catholic church couples wishing to marry in a Protestant ceremony need to hold a civil marriage before the religious one. This can be done in your home country prior to arriving or can be arranged by us in Italy.
Many couples enjoy holding a traditional civil ceremony in an elegant wedding hall and then proceed directly to the religious. The religious ceremony follows the same lines and is traditional with music and every possibility of service.
If you do opt to hold a civil and Protestant in Italy pricing for a civil ceremony is extra.
VENICE and FLORENCE are the top cities to celebrate a PROTESTANT ceremony because they have a beautiful church or cathedral.
In some regions or cities it is possible to find a pastor willing to come out to a private villa or garden setting to celebrate the wedding. They usually will charge according to travel distance and time required.
Should you wish to consider a civil wedding…Civil weddings have the widest variety of locations and the most beautiful palaces, villas and buildings. Best of all, you may personalize the ceremony however you desire using music, personal vows and readings.
