Civil Weddings

Civil weddings (legally recognized marriages) must take place in wedding halls approved by the local authorities. Italian authorities do not recognize marriages in private villas or castles. To do this is in contradiction of the present Italian law.

Also, civil weddings cannot take place outdoors - with the exception of 4 locations:

* Positano and Sorrento on the Amalfi Coast

* One location in the Lake Region

* One medieval hill town near Florence

Symbolic weddings can, however, take place anywhere in Italy - there are no restrictions.

The wedding halls we use are very beautiful villas or ancient palazzos with views or gardens. Not cold government halls!! A Mayor or Vice-Mayor performs the ceremony, not a minister or anyone religious. You may personalize your civil wedding ceremony with music, readings and have about 30 minutes available.
