Catholic Wedding in Friulian Villa, Friuli
As for our impressions of the countryside in Italy, they were obviously spectacular, considering we would love to move there! Words can't describe how beautiful it is. The mountains, the hillsides and of course the villa were amazing.
The church couldn't have been more perfect. It was the perfect size for the number of people we had and it was so pretty. The people that live there were so nice (at the grocery store, restaurants, wine bars, local stores). It is very peaceful, and we loved the fact that the mountains as well as the beaches aren't too far away. We rented a car so we were able to see some of Austria after the wedding. We love it there!
What I expected: The wedding and all the activities prior were far above any expectations we had. Really!
The rehearsal dinner was wonderful; they had Champagne under a covered area outside waiting for us when we arrived. We ate some appetizers and drank a little champagne prior to dinner. The restaurant was very quaint and pretty. The grounds were beautiful. The food and service were outstanding. I loved the way that they shaped the table into a horseshoe so everyone could sit together. The dessert was unbelievable.
The Concordia was a fun place. The food and service was great also. I believe we kept the staff up past there bed time. Sorry. They were very hospitable. It was great having it there because most of the guests were staying at the Astoria and they were able to walk home.
The hairdresser did a fantastic job. I received a lot of compliments on my hair. I have never seen anyone do an up do as meticulous as she did and I have been in many weddings! The flowers were beautiful that were in my hair, just the right amount. It's funny how I ended up with something totally different from what I pictured, but I loved it in every way. It wasn't boring like the photos I sent you. Please, tell her thanks!
The bus driver was great! Everyone got to know him and loved him. It was wonderful to have the same driver to all of the activities. The guests felt very comfortable seeing a familiar face! He was very courteous and has many talents. He really is an asset to your company.
The wedding reception was amazing. The wine cellar was perfect, very quaint, formal, yet not stuffy, and very comfortable. The guests as well as Jeff and I couldn't have pictured a more perfect setting. The food and flowers were amazing. The caterers did a great job on making sure the vegetarians got the appropriate meals.
The topiaries on the tables were just tall enough. The flowers were so pretty and natural looking, more so than I ever imagined. The dessert table was fantastic. The cake was not only beautiful but it tasted so good. It was just like the picture I had sent. The guests repeatedly stated that they had never tasted a wedding cake as good as this one. They even had seconds after that big meal. The fruit was very good as well.
The photographer really loves her job. She as well as her husband and the videographer really made us feel important. They had so many ideas and seemed as excited as we were, if not more! They are a great team and we can't wait to see our pictures. The guests even commented on how meticulous and creative they were, the guests couldn't wait to see the pictures either! The ceremony was great. The guests stated that our ceremony was the best that they had ever been to.
The priest was entertaining (just as you said), but also very personable and obviously very committed to her profession. The guests loved were the laws of the documents were read in front of them as well as Jeff, myself and the witnesses signing them. We loved the entire ceremony; we can't wait to see it again on the video. The church bells make your heart pound, the sound so beautiful.
The Count and Countess are wonderful people. They gave a whole new meaning to hospitality. Jeff and I were even able to spend some time with them after our wedding and felt that we really got to know them. They opened up their home and there hearts to Jeff and myself. They are truly a very special couple.
Well, as you can see I don't have many things I would change!
Jeff and I really want to thank you for all that you have done for us. You are truly an amazing person who is very good at planning weddings. If you ever want to take a trip to Florida, our door is always open. Who know maybe we will be neighbors in the future!
