Special Features of this Villa in Umbria with Intimate Garden
This “garden of angels” is one of our favorite properties in the green region of Umbria. Descendants of the Counts Angeli Nieri Mongalli family still welcome you into their beautiful home, now a one of a kind historic hotel.
The garden has always been the focal point of the Residence; you and your guests will be constantly drawn to its beauty and incredible wisteria covered trellis as by the scent of jasmine that permeates the air everywhere. Flowers bloom in every corner, from lavender to clematis to luscious rose beds that are lovingly tended by the family. This is a haven of peace and quiet. Reading a book or sipping a glass of the local wines while contemplating the Roman ruins or the frescoes will be a memory to remain etched in your minds for years to come.
The graceful property is personal and intimate, offering a total of fourteen rooms and apartments which are all different and still maintain most of their original interiors: antique furniture, paintings, kitchen utensils and charming objects that tell the history of this locality, lending a particular charm to your stay. In the 18th -century Palazzo Andreozzi, where the main entrance to L’orto degli Angeli is, you will find nine stylishly decorated rooms, named after the Angels portrayed in the superb frescoes that remind you of the family name. The brilliantly restored Palazzo Alberti, with the wonderful 15th century loggia, features five apartments where Roman antiquities are still visible in the architectural structures. Each apartment carries a different name and you can pick the one that best suits your tastes and interests. Between the two buildings a peculiar hanging path connects the wisteria laden terrace to the precious garden.
Your wedding reception will be an affair to remember at this location; Umbrian cuisine offers the best of Italy with truffles, the finest olive oil, incredible wines, cheeses and meats. The pasta will be entirely made by hand and the wild mushrooms picked from the nearby forests!
