The castle’s origins date as far back as the 13th century. A long line of noble lords and famous persons have enjoyed the castle’s hospitality including Giacomo Casanova, who stayed here and praised the local wines, now known world wide.
In 1881 the entire complex was restored to its former splendor. The main structure is set in the huge park and gardens and overlooks the magnificent vineyards of the Collio. The wines of this small area are considered among the best in the country. You are near the lovely towns of Udine, Gorizia and Cividale, yet you will feel transported into another world, an enchanted world far away.
The large reception rooms offer you and your guests a refined setting for a sumptuous wedding celebration. The castle’s ancient chapel is a perfect location for your romantic Catholic ceremony. Outside under the glorious wisteria plants, a symbolic or protestant blessing can be celebrated.
The rooms are actually suites, and every one is different in color, character and furnishings. Again, no detail has been left out. Each morning your day begins with a sumptuous buffet breakfast enjoying the views of the gardens.
