Destination Weddings in Scala

Founded in the 4th century AD by shipwrecked Romans trying to make their way to Constantinople, Scala is the oldest city along the coast. Located in the region of Campania, the area lies where the gulfs of Napoli and Salerno join, and where spectacular colors and textures are transmitted to this Mediterranean vicinity. Scala is a magnificent display of rocky walls, golden beaches, glowing grottoes, lava reefs, and fishing villages. A wedding in Scala is a sure bet if perfect weather is of utmost priority because the climate in Campania is unbeatable. There are six months of mild temperatures in the summer and six months of agreeable springtime.

Scala was recently included amongst the famed "Villaggi d'Europa" (European Villages) thanks to its preservation of historical, architectural and cultural facets. This is where a sequence of tourist services in small, distinctive areas of the European Union are noted.

Scala plays a significant role in the region because of its history and notable culture. It is the birthplace of Brother Gerardo Sasso, founder of the "Ospedalieri di Malta," which later became the Order of the Knights of Malta. This is a prehistoric region, inhabited by the Ausoni during the Iron Age. The Latins called them Osci (industrious), and they were segmented into the three groups of Capua, Nola, Arabella and Nocera. When the Greeks established their colonies in Campania, the Ausoni integrated their empire, which they eventually distributed throughout the Latin colonies. The Ausoni vanished as a regional distinction after their defeat by the Romans in the 4th century BC.

Campania as a whole is rather efficient in Coastal communications. There are plenty of roads, highways, trains, railways, boats, ferries, and helicopters making travel to and from all parts of Italy and Europe simple. This is one reason why tourism has been so popular in this region for centuries. The other reason is the region’s exquisite landscape. With such ease and beauty, a marriage ceremony in this town offers the very best to a couple seeking the Italian wedding experience.
