Destination Weddings in Marigliano

Marigliano is found in the province of Naples and has a population of more than 30,000. In Naples, the historic significance within individual towns is demonstrated in the size of the structures that were at one time the homes of Neapolitan aristocracy, such as the Palazzo Carafa di Maddaloni and the Palazzo Filomarino. In the town of Marigliano, the Palazzo Marigliano is the most prominent. Its grand entrance leads to a beautiful courtyard reminiscent of 1500s style. Its dramatic staircase has been illustrated through paintings and photos and is easily recognized. Built in 1513 by Giovanni Donadio, the Palazzo Marigliano was designed to be the home of Bartolomeo of Capua, Prince of Riccia and Count of Altavilla, the protonotary of the Kingdom of Naples. There is a secret tunnel that leads from the garden of the Palazzo Marigliano to nearby San Lorenzo. This tunnel is said to have been built when the “Macchia Plot,” developed, a legendary scheme that took place in 1710 by the nobility against the rulers of that time. Plaques and artwork within the building depict the squabble that purportedly lasted for centuries. The Palazzo Marigliano is currently being utilized as the location for the archival records of the Campania Region.

The people of Marigliano are kind and neighborly, much like those in Naples’ metropolitan center. To select Marigliano as the site for a destination wedding is to choose to grace a marriage ceremony with genuine Italian customs and traditions, while welcoming the region’s notable charm to the event.
